# Prior experience baseline: lapsed sub-1:30 solver

Seth previously solved consistently under 1:30 with occasional sub-1:00 solves, but the method name is lost to time (self-reported, 2026-07-11) — at that speed it was almost certainly beginner layer-by-layer or partial CFOP with a fast hand. He is rusty and may stall mid-solve today.

**Implications:** Do not teach from zero — motor memory likely resurfaces fast. Session 2 must start from his diagnostic solve report (Lesson 1 homework): if he clears the first two layers unaided, begin at last-layer rebuild (2-look OLL/PLL); if he stalls earlier, rebuild cross + F2L intuitively first. Notation was refreshed in Lesson 1; treat it as known once the lesson quiz is passed.
