# F2L chosen by request, superseding diagnostic gating

On 2026-07-13 Seth requested F2L directly ("/teach 2fl") without having delivered the Lesson 1 diagnostic solve report. Lesson 3 (F2L: The Four Doors) was issued on that basis — the "Session 2 must start from his diagnostic report" implication in [0001-prior-experience-baseline](0001-prior-experience-baseline.md) is partially superseded: F2L rebuild is now the committed path regardless of where the diagnostic stall was.

**Implications:** The diagnostic report is still owed and still matters, but its scope narrows to sizing the *last-layer* rebuild (Lessons 4–5: how much 2-look OLL/PLL re-teaching is needed). Do not re-block F2L progress on it. Asking for F2L unprompted also suggests engagement with the CFOP arc — a good sign for the spaced ≤2-algs-per-session plan.
